In 1947, Richmond became vertically integrated with its raw material supplier, Barnhardt Manufacturing Company, providing exceptional quality control throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, many of our quality products are made from US grown, purified, medical-grade cotton in our FDA registered facility.
Richmond’s most popular medical products are: Soft BiteBlock, 100% Cotton Nonwoven Sponges, Cotton Pound Roll, SteriPocket® Nonwoven Sponges, Cotton Tipped Applicators, and Medical Balls.
A more recent innovation in Richmond’s medical offering is the Soft BiteBlock®, which protects the airway device (endotracheal tube or laryngeal mask airway), teeth, and tongue during emergence from general anesthesia. Health care professionals have an effective solution, available in three sizes, rather than DIY rolling and taping gauze. Richmond’s patented Soft BiteBlock meets Joint Commission guidelines for individually-wrapped medical supplies. Co-designed by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Richmond Soft BiteBlock® is proudly made in the USA.
Richmond’s 100% cotton nonwoven sponges, pound rolls, cotton-tipped applicators, and cotton balls are all-natural, biodegradable, and made in the USA.
SteriPocket Sponges are pre-sterilized packs of two cotton filled or rayon/poly nonwoven sponges. These are a perfect patient take-home after surgery.
